We are working to accelerate the investment process, said the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Innovation and Growth at a meeting with the Ambassador of Italy, Confindustria Bulgaria and the Italian Chamber of Commerce

Improving the infrastructure is our main task for attracting new investors to Bulgaria. We will work actively on completing the main road corridors. In addition to attracting investors in sectors with high added value, the government’s priority is also the modernization of the Bulgarian army. My personal goal is to involve the Bulgarian industry in the process. To have a better army and a better economy. We need to explore all possible cooperation in the field. This was stated by Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Innovation and Growth Tomislav Donchev at a meeting with the Ambassador of Italy H.E. Giuseppina Dzara, with Confindustria Bulgaria, the association of Italian entrepreneurship in our country, and with the Italian Chamber of Commerce in the Ministry of Innovation and Growth.

Donchev stated that measures have been taken to accelerate the investment process, reduce administrative obstacles in order to facilitate business. The Deputy Prime Minister also said that the country has a well-developed automotive industry, aviation industry, communication and electronics. Retaining young qualified personnel in Bulgaria will help the competitiveness of the economy, it became clear during the meeting.

The Italian side emphasized the importance of funding cooperation between business and universities. On this occasion, Deputy Minister Martin Danovski stated that the Ministry of Innovation and Growth supports the modernization and digitalization of companies and actively promotes the interaction between science and business under two European programs – “Competitiveness and Innovation” and “Research, Innovation and Digitalization for Smart Transformation”. He also presented the various financial instruments that support small and medium-sized enterprises, startups, technology companies, etc. under the Fund of Funds.

During the meeting, the good relations between Bulgaria and Italy, the opportunities for future cooperation, as well as the upcoming forum in Sofia Tech Park “Bridge of Innovation: Italy-Bulgaria United for the Future of Startups”, which will bring together companies from different sectors from both countries, were emphasized.
