The Swiss-Bulgarian Cooperation Program (SBCP) has become a benchmark for quality, high added value and meaningful investments that are in perfect synergy with all other financing instruments. This was stated by Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Innovation and Growth Tomislav Donchev during the opening of the program.

“All 11 programs of the SBCP are of undeniable and exceptional importance for our society: science, innovation, environmental protection, migration management, strengthening social systems and civic engagement,” he added.

H.E. Mr. Raymund Furrer, Ambassador of the Swiss Confederation to Bulgaria, also welcomed the guests and described the event as an important moment in the cooperation between the two countries. “This Program is another part of our long-standing excellent partnership. There will be challenges, but with determination and good cooperation we will be able to achieve the goals we have set ourselves,” he said.

The Agreement for the Health and Education for All (HEA 2.0) Program was also signed during the opening ceremony. The goal of the program, which has a total value of 9.4 million Swiss francs, is to support the most vulnerable social groups, promoting their social inclusion by creating opportunities for improved access to integrated services. HEA 2.0 will build on the high results achieved by HEA 1.0 and multiply them. “This support, for which we are signing an agreement today, is another timely, relevant, effective support that we will receive under the Swiss-Bulgarian Program,” said Minister of Education Krasimir Valchev.

The event was also attended by representatives of the diplomatic corps and international institutions, as well as representatives of state structures and non-governmental organizations.
