Innovation can be a link in cooperation with other countries. The Ministry of Innovation and Growth envisages the creation and connection of regional innovation valleys based on the countries’ strategic advantages and their specialization. This was stated by the Minister of Innovation and Growth Milena Stoycheva at a meeting with the Ambassador of Georgia H.E. Otar Berdzenishvili.
The Minister of Innovation and Growth also said that the Ministry of Innovation and Growth can be an intersection point for the work of other ministries in Bulgaria regarding the development of innovation in our country and in Europe. “One of our priorities is to work in close cooperation with all colleagues from areas where innovation can be key”, Stoycheva also said during the meeting.
Minister Stoycheva and Ambassador Otar Berdzenishvili discussed cooperation between Bulgaria and Georgia in the field of innovation, high technologies, scientific and development activities, blue and green economy, tourism, agriculture, etc.
The two emphasized in their conversation the importance of education and the development of human capital and potential as a basis for the creation of innovations. His Excellency Otar Berdzenishvili stated that this is Georgia’s main priority in terms of innovation development. “Without innovation, a country cannot advance in its development”, said the Georgian ambassador.
“Intellectual potential is very important and is leading to the creation of innovations. Education and research and development activities should be at the core of innovations and the commercialization of science in business should be encouraged”, said Minister Stoycheva. She stated that among MIG’s priorities is the rebranding of Bulgaria as a destination for high-tech innovations that create high added value in our economy.
