The Ministry of Innovation and Growth will initiate the creation of a joint technology transfer fund between the EIF, Bulgaria and Romania on the model of the fund between the EIB, Croatia and Slovenia to support innovative projects
The Minister of Innovation and Growth Milena Stoycheva held work meetings in the Republic of Croatia with the Minister of Economy and Sustainable Development Damir Habiyan and the Minister of Science and Education Prof. Radovan Fuchs. The purpose of the meetings is to strengthen cooperation between the two countries in the field of innovation and investment in the high-tech sector and the development of the entrepreneurial ecosystem. During the meetings, the conclusion of a Memorandum of Cooperation in the field of innovation, technology and entrepreneurial ecosystem was discussed.
“The Ministry of Innovation and Growth works purposefully to turn our country into an innovation hub for South-Eastern Europe – Bulgaria is a center for innovation. This can be done through sustainable partnerships with the countries of South-Eastern Europe, through which to attract and develop talents, to strengthen cooperation in areas such as new technologies, digitalization, entrepreneurial and startup ecosystem”, Stoycheva stated at the meeting with the Minister of Economy and Sustainable Development Habian. It was also attended by the Deputy Head of the Central State Office for Digital Development Nikola Modroshan, the Ambassador of Bulgaria to Croatia H.E. Iva Kruleva and the head of the Office for Trade and Economic Affairs Mirela Taseva. Stoycheva announced that the Ministry of Innovation and Growth will initiate the creation of a joint fund for technology transfer between the EIF, Bulgaria and Romania on the model of the fund between the EIB, Croatia and Slovenia to support innovative projects.
Later Minister Stoycheva and the Minister of Science and Education Prof. Fuchs talked about the possibilities of promoting scientific developments with application in companies, support for the entrepreneurial ecosystem and deepening the science-business relationship.
The Ministry of Science and Education in Zagreb sent an invitation through the Ministry of Innovation and Growth to Bulgaria to join the DONES project, which is related to innovative methods and studies in the field of energy.
At the end of the day, Minister Stoycheva familiarized herself with the activities of the Regional Center for Excellence in Robotic Technologies (CRTA). The Minister held a meeting with Prof. Dr. Marko Švako, head of RTA and the Department of Autonomous Systems and AI, as well as with the Dean of the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering of the University of Zagreb, Eng. Dr. Zdenko Tonković. The Minister of Innovation and Growth also visited the medical robotics laboratories, where the latest prototypes and technologies were demonstrated and opportunities for collaborations and exchange of experience were discussed.
